If only England’s football team could reach the World Cup final…

England’s Hockey Masters team finished Runners Up in their World cup in Rotterdam last week and here’s what they had to say about the experience:

“Just home from the Masters World Cup and pleased to report we finished runners up after losing to Germany 1-0 in the Final. A great 12 days out in Rotterdam and although we unfortunately missed out on gold, we ran the Germans very close and if we’d taken the several chances created we would have returned as World Champions. A fine line between success and defeat! I enclose a picture with close friend from Sheffield HC Rob Ward who scored 9 goals in a pool game against Egypt which we won 21-1.”

Other results were:-

  • Group vs. USA Won 2-0
  • Group vs. Wales Won 5-0
  • Group vs. Holland Drew 1-1
  • Quarter Final Vs. Spain Won 5-1
  • Semi Final Vs. Australia Won 2-0

Many thanks for your support. The next big event is the European Championships in London next year and so believe the next World Cup is in Canberra, Australia in 2016.”
