After another big year in Squash for TEAM:Z athletes and Nick Matthew and Laura Massaro, both have been nominated for their respective PSA World Tour Player of the Year Awards. The annual awards, presented to the players who have best demonstrated supreme athletic performance and achievement during the season.

PSA Nick Matthew

Nick Matthew joins fellow British Open finalist Gregory Gaultier in the men’s nominations, having managed two Tour wins over the season and narrowly missing out on the US Open crown. At 36 years of age, Matthew is one of the oldest players on the World Tour but is still very much on top.

PSA Laura Massaro

Laura Massaro heads into the awards ballot with three major wins under her belt during the 2016/17 season. Having occupied the World #2 spot for most of the campaign, Massaro stormed to the crown at the sport’s most historic tournament – the Allam British Open.

Normally, the Player of the Year Awards are decided by an awards panel, however this time around the PSA have opened up voting to fans. Head on over to the PSA website to show your support for TEAM:Z’s athletes now.
